Hortus Plant Market
Experience spring at the Hortus Botanicus Leiden during the annual plant market. Here, garden and plant lovers can indulge themselves at more than 40 stalls featuring exclusive (house)plants, seeds, bulbs, gardening advice, art, accessories, and more.
Admission: regular admission rates (free upon presentation of Museum Card or Friend Card).
Program components
During the plant market, you can not only buy unique plants but also get hands-on yourself. Throughout the day, various creative and green workshops are organized for young and old.
Botanical Print Workshop – Studio Aventurijn
11:30 AM | Duration: approx. 1 hour
Create botanical prints using a gel-like plate and go home with your own artwork and a small goodie bag.
Participation: €17.50 pp ( buy your ticket in advance ; cash only on site, limited spaces available)
Location: at the Studio Aventurijn booth
In case of bad weather: Orangery (left wing)
Kokedama Making Workshop – Salie Leiden
11:00, 12:00, and 15:00 | Duration: approx. 1 hour.
Learn the Japanese art of kokedama and make your own moss ball with a plant. You can, of course, take your creation home with you.
Participation: €19.50 pp (instead of €29.50; buy your ticket in advance , limited spaces available).
Payment possible on-site (card or cash).
Location: at the Salie and Hélène’s Plants stall.
Workshop: Making a Plant Terrarium (Ecosystem) – Salie Leiden
1:00 PM | Duration: approx. 1 – 1.5 hours
Create your own mini-ecosystem in a pot or bottle and learn how to maintain it yourself.
Participation: €39.50 pp (instead of €49.50; buy your ticket in advance , limited spaces available)

Botanical Button Making Workshop
